CASEA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING/ ACEAS ASSEMBLEE GENERALE ANNUELLE 2009 Carleton University May 25, 2009 President’s Report Rosemary Foster The executive has followed up on the following ACEAS priorités/CASEA Priorities as outlined, defined, and directed by the 2008 ACEAS AGA/CASEA AGM: piloted a “distributed leadership” model where more members are involved in the work of preparing for the 2009 ACEAS/CASEA event. The president and 2 vice-presidents delegated responsibilities to the sub-committees. established un comité des Francophones. Claire Lapointe l’organise. The purpose of the committee is to encourage more Francophone colleagues to join and participate in ACEAS/CASEA. The 2009 conference, and the next two conferences, will be held in bilingual cities (Carleton, Concordia, UNB/St Thomas). C’est le bon moment! established and extended under the graduate student representative, Brenton Faubert, active involvement in scheduling the Graduate Student Seminar, as well as ACEAS/CASEA program.  Graduate student presenters are paired with more experienced scholars who provide mentorship. Coral Mitchell (Brock U) has done a fabulous job of managing the ACEAS/CASEA WEBPAGE. There have been 5 newsletters distributed to ACEAS/CASEA members and posted on the WEBPAGE this past academic year.
